Edau’r Afon /Threads of the River

Hoffech chi fod yn rhan o brosiect tecstilau cymunedol cydweithredol a chreadigol, i gyd am ein Dyffryn Conwy hardd a'r dŵr sy'n llifo yno? // Would you like to be part of a collaborative and creative community textile project, all about our beautiful Conwy Valley and the water that flows there?
Dros y flwyddyn ddiwethaf, mae ‘Gwisg yr Afon’ wedi tyfu - gan gasglu syniadau, meddyliau a chwestiynau ar gyfer yr afon ar hyd y ffordd, gan symud tuag at sut y gallem ni, cymuned y dyffryn, helpu ein hafonydd, pyllau, corsydd, llynnoedd a nentydd i lifo’n lân ac yn iach i’r dyfodol.
Efallai eich bod wedi gweld y Wisg yr Afon yng Ngŵyl Garrog yn Nolgarrog; yng Nghaffi Doti yn Nhrefriw; wrth yr afon; mewn ffenestr siop neu ar y sgwâr yn Llanrwst, wrth i bobl leol ac ymwelwyr wedi ‘ofyn cwestiwn i’r afon’, a'r wisg wedi tyfu.
Mae’r wisg bellach yn barod i barhau â’i thaith i’r tirlluniau uwchben a llawr i’r dyffryn ar hyd ei hisafonydd, gan ymgolli yng nghymunedau bodau dynol a bodau eraill sy’n byw yno.
Bydd esblygiad nesaf Gwisg yr Afon, Edau’r Afon, yn cael ei bweru gan y cymuned: gwehyddu syniadau a phrosesau tecstilau creadigol, arbrofi, archwilio, a rhannu a dysgu sgiliau newydd. Bydd y bawb yn penderfynu ble a sut mae Edau’r Afon yn llifo!
Yn y cam nesaf hwn o'r prosiect, rydym yn cael ein hysbrydoli gan y nifer o gwestiynau diddorol a ofynnwyd i'r wisg. Drwy wehyddu ffabrig a phwytho, defnyddio ffyrdd organig o weithio gyda dŵr a thecstilau, a thrwy archwilio a darganfod y nifer o fodau yng nghymuned yr afon, rydym yn gobeithio symud tuag at ddod o hyd i atebion i rai o'r cwestiynau hynny.
Disgwyliwch arbrofi, archwilio a rhannu gwybodaeth a sgiliau. Dewch draw a chymryd rhan. Mae croeso i bawb ac nid oes angen unrhyw brofiad gwnïo blaenorol.

Over the last year, the ‘River Dress’ has grown - gathering ideas, thoughts and questions for the river along the way, moving toward how we, the valley community, might help our rivers, ponds, bogs, lakes and streams to flow clean and healthy into the future.
You might have seen the River Dress at Gŵyl Garrog in Dolgarrog; in Caffi Doti in Trefriw; by the river; in a shop window or on the square in Llanrwst, as local people and visitors ‘asked the river a question’, and the dress grew into a gown.
The dress is now ready to continue its journey into the uplands and into the valley along its river tributaries, immersing itself in the communities of human and other beings that live there.
The next evolution of the River Dress, Threads of the River will be people-powered: weaving creative textile ideas and processes, experimentation, exploration, and sharing and learning new skills. Where and how the Threads of the River flow will be up to us to decide!
In this next phase of the project we’re inspired by some of the many fascinating questions asked of the dress. By weaving fabric and stitch with natural ways of working with water and textiles, and with exploration and discovery of the many beings in the river community, we hope to move towards finding answers to some of those questions.
Expect experimentation, exploration and sharing of knowledge and skills.
